Built on Real Business Understanding

We started melioraxento because business owners kept asking the same questions about finances. Not the textbook stuff—the actual problems keeping them up at night.

How We Got Here

Back in 2019, three accountants were sharing lunch and complaining about the gap between what businesses needed and what traditional education offered. The courses were either too academic or too simplified.

So we did something about it. Started small—weekend workshops in Ballarat for local business owners who wanted to understand their numbers without needing a degree. Turns out, there were plenty of people tired of generic advice that didn't fit their situation.

By early 2023, we'd moved online and developed a proper curriculum. Not the flashy kind with promises of instant success, but practical content for people running actual businesses in Australia.

What Makes Our Programs Different

We focus on the messy reality of business finances, not idealized scenarios that never happen.

Context Over Theory

Real business scenarios from Australian companies. When we talk about cash flow, it's using actual patterns from retail, services, and small manufacturing—not made-up examples.

Honest Timelines

Financial literacy takes time. Our programs run 8-12 months because that's what it takes to internalize these concepts properly. Anyone promising faster results isn't being straight with you.

Practical Application

You'll work with your own business numbers throughout the course. Seeing how the concepts apply to your specific situation makes them stick in a way generic exercises never will.

Who's Running This

Our team brings decades of combined experience working with Australian businesses. No celebrity instructors or motivational speakers—just people who understand financial management from years in the field.

Sienna Threlfall

Senior Financial Educator

Spent 14 years as a management accountant before switching to education. Sienna designs most of our curriculum based on the financial mistakes she saw businesses make repeatedly. Her approach is straightforward—if something's complicated, she'll tell you it's complicated rather than pretending there's an easy shortcut.

She focuses on cash flow management and financial forecasting, particularly for businesses transitioning from startup to established operations. The workshops she leads in September and November 2025 fill up quickly because participants appreciate her no-nonsense explanations.

What We Stand For

Education should be transparent. We're upfront about what our programs can and can't do. Financial management skills improve decision-making and business understanding—they don't guarantee profits or solve every problem.

Our courses starting in autumn 2025 reflect this philosophy. We cover practical topics like reading financial statements, understanding cost structures, and planning for tax obligations. Essential stuff that somehow gets overlooked in favour of trendier subjects.

Realistic Expectations

We never promise specific outcomes or guaranteed results. Business success depends on too many variables. What we offer is solid financial education that improves your capability over time.

Australian Context

Tax laws, business structures, and regulatory requirements differ here. Our content reflects Australian reality rather than generic international material that might not apply.

Ongoing Support

Questions come up months after courses end. Our participants can reach us at help@melioraxento.com when they need clarification or hit situations we didn't cover in class.
